Science Day Feb 15th - Plastic Pollution

Today children from Years 1 - 6 have spent time split into mixed age classes, working in teams to produce a plastic bottle sculpture. Children are designing birds to see which ones can fly down a zip wire, collecting fish from a sea of rubbish and the winning team will represent the school at a Bristol wide competition in March.

So far the children have had a fantastic morning with a special asembly led by Mrs Fletcher, our Science Leader. It has been a pleasure for me to visit the mixed classes. I look forward to the test flights this afternoon.

Thanks to everyone who dontated plastic bottles. As well as science this day is all about reflecting on the dmage humans are causing the environment through plastic pollution.

This is a fabulous example of what our school does best. A meaningful curriculum experience designed to develop the 4 pupil attributes in our school vision: Aspiring Leaders, Global Citizens,  Lifelong Learners,  and Resilient, Confident Children.

Great job Mrs Fletcher, the staff team and our wonderful children! What a way to end the term.
