Kidscape train 20 Peer Mediators from Years 5 and 6

Well done to the 20 children from Years 5 and 6 who were trained last week, by Kidscape, the national charity, to become peer mediators.

Under the guidance of Miss Allen (Learning Mentor), the mediators will be on duty from the start of term 3 in the Cosy Cafe and will be available to children from across the school to help settle minor disputes and conflicts during lunchtimes.

The peer mediators have learnt a lot about inter-personal skills, trust and conflict resolution and are developing their own leadership skills in the process.

This is part of the school's wider strategy to deliver the 4 pupil outcomes of the school vision: Aspiring Leaders, Global Citizens, Lifelong Learners and Resilient, Happy and Confident Children.

Everyone involved can be really proud of their efforts during the training day and will be making a really positive contribution to the life of the school during term 3.

We look forward to the impact I am sure they will have from January.
