Eco-Club and Wildlife Garden

A big thank you to Mrs Merriam who has formed an eco club with over 100 children volunteers from across the school.

The school is now a member of the Bristol Schools Nature Reserve Club with the aim of facilitating outdoor learning and create nature reserves. Children will learn that they can create habitats for a variety of wildlife, which will then establish themselves. They will also learn the value of working as a community.

On Friday they planted seeds for a wild flower meadow and a wide range of shrubs with Mr Tom Wamsley and his helpers.  Tom is an environmentalist from Bristol, helping schools to create habitats for insects and other wildlife.

The project will last for 5 years and we will be making further changes to our outdoor grounds during  the remainder of the academic year with Tom's guidance.

Well done to Mrs Merriam for linking up with Tom and ensuring we are part of this prestigious opportunity.
