Meet the Governors
Members of the Local Governing Body are drawn from parents, school staff, and the community. They oversee the management and leadership of the school.
We are currently filling two vacancies: one for a staff governor and one for a parent governor. The parent community will be invited to elect the new parent governor by ballot in January 2020. A ParentMail explaining the process, and providing the candidates' statements, will be sent early in the first week of Term 3, and ballot papers will be sent home with children. Members of staff (employed by the school in any role) who are interested in the staff governor vacancy, should read the information about "What Does a Governor Do?", and speak with the Chair of Governors [see contact details below].
In 2020, we will also be looking to fill our co-opted governor vacancy, ideally with someone from the wider town community who brings background, approach and experience to complement those of our existing governors. If you're interested in becoming a governor, please read the information below about the role (and ineligibility), and arrange to speak with Helen Dawes [Chair of Governors] by emailing email@example.com
If you have any queries about the governor appointment process, please contact Cathryn Butler [Clerk to Governors] by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Governors are appointed for a four-year term of office. In appropriate circumstances, they may serve a subsequent term.
