A Warm Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
A very warm welcome to our school community from everyone at Portishead Primary School, our governing body and the wider Lighthouse Schools Partnership.
Though we find ourselves in the middle of an unprecedented national emergency we are planning to ensure that you and your children are well prepared to start school when September comes. It is impossible to predict what will happen over the coming days, weeks and months but we have in our diary the following usual dates which we will stick to if the situation allows:
Information Evening: 7.00pm Wednesday 17th June
Transition morning school visits: Tuesday 7th July- more information will be shared nearer the time.
Please be reassured that we are working very hard behind the scenes to make sure that your start with us is successful and that as the situation changes we will either stick to our usual induction process or adapt it with safety and wellbeing as our first priority.
Our Friends of School have set up a Facebook group for you and you can see regular videos from me and the staff team to make you smile on our school Facebook page and the main FOS Facebook page. You can also find out more about the school on our website.
Our teachers will be as prepared as ever for September, and like all year groups in all educational settings, when that time comes, our teaching will be adapted to the starting points of each child.
We understand that starting school is a very important step for children and their families. So while this crisis continues, don’t worry about this big change. Continue to focus on the wellbeing of your children and your family, continue to home school as best you can and we will take care of the worry and planning for the September 2020.
We will update you as necessary and look forward to welcoming you all to the school in person as soon as it is safe to do so.
Stay safe and take care.
